FALLUJAH — The Shi’ite militias burned dozens of Sunni citizens in Iraq in retaliation to the recent bombing attacks in Karada district in Baghdad.

Iraqi news outlets reported that the Shi’ite militias from Asaib Ahl al-Haq (AAH), an Iranian-backed Shi’ite militia operating primarily in Iraq, has begun arbitrarily arresting Sunnis, and in their first response to the Karada bombings they burned 46 Sunnis to death.

The Shi’ite militants from Hashd al-Shaabi also burned 5 mosques in Fallujah and looted hundreds of civilians’ houses in the city, a source from the civil defense of Anbar province revealed.

The source also said that the militias from Hashd al-Shaabi set the houses of civilians on fire after they looted them and they didn’t allow the civil defense crews to extinguish the fire.

The militias have also written sectarian expressions on the walls and in the public places in Fallujah after it was liberated from the Islamic State (IS) late in June, the source added.

Previously, a suicide car bomb claimed by IS, killed nearly 300 people and wounded hundreds more in a Baghdad’s Karadah neighborhood in the early hours of Sunday, June 3rd.
